New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted searches at multiple locations across the country in an ongoing probe into alleged irregularities in the New Delhi excise policy case, sources said.

The searches were underway at around 40 locations in various states including in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Nellore.

It was another major search conducted by ED within 10 days in this case, the sources said.

On September 6, the ED conducted similar raids at multiple locations across the country in the same case. The raids were held at over 35 locations of various states.

Earlier this month, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had conducted a search of the bank locker of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia at Ghaziabad in connection with the same case. It had earlier raided and held a search operation for around 14 hours at his residence.

The CBI registered a case against Sisodia and others in this matter.

A day after a purported sting operation video surfaced in the alleged liquor policy scam, Sisodia dared BJP to arrest him and also questioned the veracity of the video.

On Thursday, Sisodia accused BJP of hatching conspiracy and bringing out purported sting video.

He tweeted: “If nothing was found from the CBI-ED investigation, then a sting was brought out.

“BJP should immediately submit this sting to the CBI. If the CBI finds the truth in that then I should be arrested in four days. Otherwise, it should be assumed that this is a conspiracy hatched in the PM’s Office and the PM should apologize for it.”
