Islamabad: There is no food shortage in Pakistan as basic food commodities are sufficient in the country, Pakistan’s National Flood Response Coordination Center (NFRCC) has said.

A huge stock of wheat for the next six months is available along with the strategic reserve which is sufficient till the next harvesting season, the NFRCC said in a statement on Friday.

The bumper crop of tomatoes harvested last year is sufficient to fulfill the food requirement, the NFRCC said, adding that the import of onions and potatoes is in progress from Iran and Afghanistan.
