New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear on Wednesday a plea which seeks a direction to restrain Justice Dr D Y Chandrachud from taking oath as the next Chief Justice of India (CJI) on November 9.

An advocate mentioned the plea before a bench headed by Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit. He wanted the hearing to take place on Thursday.

But CJI Lalit asked the lawyer to get the paper books and said it will be heard on Wednesday itself.
