The government of Australia has decided that it will remove all the surveillance cameras manufactured by companies associated with China, from the buildings of its defense department. Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister, and Defense Minister, Richard Marles, said that their department is reviewing all of its surveillance technologies. Marles stated that those particular cameras will be removed from where ever they are placed.

As per reports, 913 cameras, intercoms, electronic entry systems, and video recorders, manufactured by Chinese companies Hikvision and Dahua, are placed in the offices of the Australia’s defense department, trade and foreign affairs department, and the offices of the Australian government and agencies. Australia has taken this decision at such a time when the Chinese spy balloon has been found in the American skies, and the relations between both the countries have aggravated further.

Earlier, the USA and Britain had also taken the decision to remove Chinese surveillance gadgets from their offices.
