Prez, VP, Speaker greet people of Arunachal, Mizoram on their Statehood Day

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday extend their warm wishes to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their Statehood Day.

Taking to twitter, the President wrote,”Greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on Statehood day. These states represent India’s rich culture and diversity. ”

Recalling her recent visit to Mizoram, the President said, “I was deeply touched by the warm reception in Mizoram during my recent visit. ”

“I look forward to Statehood Day celebrations in Itanagar today,” she added.

She will be on a two-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh from Monday onwards.

Extending his greetings, the VP in a tweet wrote, “Greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their statehood day. Renowned for their distinct ethnic heritage & enchanting natural beauty, these states inspire all to live in harmony with nature. My best wishes for the continued growth and prosperity of the states.”

“Warm wishes to people of Mizoram on their Statehood day. Pristine beauty, diverse flora and fauna and rich cultural heritage make the State very special. The hardworking people of Mizoram have always been devoted to service of nation. I wish for their well being and prosperity,” the Speaker tweeted.

Conveying his greetings to the people of the frontier state, Birla said, “Heartiest congratulations to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on their Statehood Day. Popularly known as ‘Land of the Dawn-lit-Mountains’, Arunachal Pradesh has made immense contribution towards the nation building. I wish for all round progress of the State.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also took to twitter and greeted people of both North Eastern states.

“Endowed with the gift of beautiful nature, Mizoram has a unique culture and friendly people, thus contributing to India’s rich diversity and growth. We shall continue to work for your progress and stability,” he said.

He further wrote, “Known as the ‘Land of the Dawn-lit-Mountains’, Arunachal is a kaleidoscope of Indian civilisational values.We wish peace and prosperity to people, so that they continue contributing to nation building.”
