New Delhi: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi does not want to leave any opportunity to “defame” the country and always tries to show himself above the law.

“Such people who consider themselves above the system are certainly a threat to democracy” Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said here.

Over the Rahul Gandhi disqualification for the Lok Sabha, he said a few leaders, for whom the Gandhi family is above law and Constitution, are making an outcry over the decision of his disqualification from the House.

“Such remarks are not only insulted the constitution but also insulted the democratic system of the country” he alleged

The Union Minister said it is shameful that Rahul Gandhi is so immersed in ego and ‘pride’ that he didn’t even avail the chance to tender an apology even when given an opportunity by the Court.

“If Rahul Gandhi committed the mistake once, the nation would have forgiven him, but his constant committing of such mistakes is a display of his disrespect towards the people”

Shekhawat also alleged that Rahul Gandhi also insulted the great patriot Vir Savarkar and hurt the sentiments of people who take inspiration from this freedom fighter and his sacrifices.
