Ex-Telangana CS Somesh Kumar assumes office as Chief Advisor to KCR

Hyderabad: Former Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has assumed office as Chief Advisor to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at Secretariat here on Friday.

Mr Kumar was appointed as Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister on May 9.

He has been given the rank of a Cabinet Minister.

The former CS will continue in the post for three years, according to the order issued by Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari.

He expressed his gratitude to KCR for once again bestowing faith and giving him an opportunity to serve the state.

Priests performed puja in the chamber of Chief Advisor before he took charge.

Later officials and staff of the Secretariat greeted Somesh Kumar on assuming office.
