Newly inducted Ministers allotted portfolio

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed portfolios to three newly appointed Ministers who were inducted into the Council of Ministers on Monday morning.

Three Ministers — Bikram Keshari Arukh, Sudam Marndi and Sarada Nayak all with Cabinet rank were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal earlier on the day.

While Bikram Keshari Arukh was given the portfolio of Finance, Sarada Naik was allotted the department of Labour and Employees Insurance and Sudam Marndi became the Minister of School and Mass Education.

Niranjan Pujari, the Minister of Finance and Parliamentary Affairs and was given the additional responsibility of Health and Family Welfare department after the murder of former Health Minister Naba Kishore Das on January 29 last.

The department of Finance was taken out from Pujari and given to Bikram Keshari Arukh . Pujari is now left with the department of Prliamentary Affairs and Health and Family Welfare department after the distribution of portfolios on Monday.

The Departments of School and Mass Education and Labour and Employees state Insurance were allotted to Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Pramila Mallik after Samir Ranjan Dash and Srikant Sahu resigned from the Ministry on May 12 last.

While Samir Ranjan Dash was the School and Mass Education Miniser, Srikant Sahu was the
Labour and Employees state Insurance.
