SC grants interim bail for six weeks till July 11 to Satyendar Jain in money laundering case

New Delhi: Supreme Court in its order on Friday granted interim bail for six weeks to former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader, Satyendar Jain on health/ medical grounds.

The Apex Court turned down ED’s plea that Jain should be first examined by a panel of doctors in AIIMS.

“We are inclined to grant interim medical bail. We allow the petitioner (Satyendar Jain) to take treatment from private hospital and we allow him to be released on interim bail as subject to the conditions by the trial court. He shall not influence any of the witnesses,” the Supreme Court said, in its order on Friday.

“He shall not leave the area of NCT without leave of the court. The treatment be taken during interim bail. All papers be produced before this court. this order shall remain in operation till July 11, 2023. List this case be listed for hearing on July 10, 2023,” the Apex Court said.

Supreme Court was hearing the plea today filed by former Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain in the money laundering case.

A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice J K Maheshwari and P S Narasimha, passed the order on Jain’s plea on his worsening health condition.

Jain was hospitalised due to a spine injury and is currently on oxygen support.
