PM Modi holds talks with CEOs of GE, Micron, Applied Materials

New Delhi/Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday evening held talks with the CEO of Applied Materials, Gary Dickerson, CEO of General Electric, Lawrence Culp, and the CEO of Micron Tech Sanjay Mehrotra and discussed collaborations with India.

During his talks with Gary Dickerson, President and CEO of Applied Materials, PM Modi invited Applied Materials to “contribute in strengthening the semiconductor ecosystem in India”.

“Prime Minister also invited Applied Materials for development of process technology and advanced packaging capabilities in India.

“Prime Minister and Mr. Dickerson discussed the potential of Applied Materials’ collaboration with academic institutions in India to create skilled workforce.”

During his meeting with Lawrence Culp, CEO of General Electric, the Prime Minister appreciated GE for its long-term commitment of manufacturing in India.

“Prime Minister and Mr. Culp, Jr. discussed GE’s greater technology collaboration to promote manufacturing in India.

“Prime Minister invited GE to play a greater role in the aviation and renewable energy sector in India.”

During his meeting with Sanjay Mehrotra, CEO of Micron, the PM invited Micron Technology to boost semiconductor manufacturing in India.

“He noted that India can provide competitive advantages in various parts of the semiconductor supply chain,” a statement said.
