New Delhi/Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met the President and CEO of Amazon Andrew Jassy, and of Boeing, David L. Calhoun, and Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet Inc. and Google.
Prime Minister and Jassy held discussions in the area of e-commerce. They also discussed the potential of further collaboration with Amazon in the logistics sector in India.
Prime Minister welcomed Amazon’s initiative of promoting digitisation of MSMEs in India, a statement said.
During his meeting with the President and CEO of Boeing, David Calhoun, the two discussed Boeing’s greater presence in the aviation sector in India, including in the domain of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of aircrafts.
Prime Minister also invited Boeing to invest in the Space manufacturing sector in India.
During his meeting with Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet Inc. and Google, Prime Minister invited Pichai to explore further avenues of collaboration in the domains of Artificial Intelligence (AI); fintech; cybersecurity products & services; as well as mobile device manufacturing in India.
They also discussed collaboration between Google and academic institutions in India to promote R&D and skill development.
PM Modi also held a meeting with leading professionals at the John F. Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C.
The event was organized by US – India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). Secretary of State Antony Blinken also graced the occasion.
In his address, Prime Minister highlighted the profound transformation currently underway in India and the strides being made in various sectors. Stressing that “This is the moment”, Prime Minister invited the professionals to forge partnerships with India.
