On Tuesday, July 18, the BJYM and the ABVP organized protests in Rajasthan’s Ajmer and Jaipur, respectively. The protest in held in Ajmer by the BJYM also saw the participation of BJYM President, Tejasvi Surya. Both the places saw the police clamping down the protestors and lathi-charging on them, resulting in severe injuries of the karyakartas protesting.

The injured also include the BJYM Rajasthan State President, Ankit Chechi. In Ajmer, the RPSC was gheraoed by the BJYM protestors as they were protesting against the paper leak scam case. It was during this ‘Yuva Aakrosh Maha Pradarshan’, that the protestors and the police took on each other. And in Jaipur, the ABVP was protesting against crime against women, and the rape of a minor girl in Jodhpur on Sunday. Here too, the protestors were lathi-charged.

After the clash between the police and the BJYM protestors in Ajmer, the injured individuals were admitted to the JLN hospital in the city. BJP State President CP Joshi took the responsibility and even carried the injured on his shoulders to the hospital. MP Balaknath and MLA Vasudev Devnani reached the hospital as well.

Before the RPSC was gheraoed, a public meeting was organized, in which hundreds of BJYM workers arrived from all over the state. This was when the BJYM workers raised slogans against the Rajasthan Congress government, and burned an effigy of CM Ashok Gehlot.

BJYM President Tejasvi Surya, said, ‘Rajasthan’s Ashok Gehlot government has suppressed the BJYM protest in the most undemocratic manner. The unprovoked lathi-charge against our karyakartas resulted in more than 70 hospitalized. 4 are seriously injured while 2 are critical.’

‘Will this reach our Delhi media?’, questioned Surya.
