The area near Ecotech 3 in Greater Noida has been submerged under water because of the rising water levels in the Hindon River, due to which, approximately 300 vehicles have become stranded. As per the Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate, a private company had constructed an unauthorized yard in the submergence area of the Hindon River.

Even after repeated warnings, the company did not remove the vehicles parked there. However, normal life has not been affected in any way, and no casualties have been reported. As the river crossed the 201-metres mark on Monday, July 24, nearly 500 people were displaced from the Hindon floodplains in Bahlolpur, Lakhnavali, Chotpur Colony, and Chhajarsi, after 200 houses got submerged in water.

It is being feared that the water level in the river could rise further due to heavy rainfall and flooding in the upper-reaches of the rain-fed river.
