Islamabad: Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that the nation has been striving to ensure complete protection of the rights and security of its minorities.

“The Constitution of Pakistan ensures equal social, religious and political rights to all citizens without any racial, caste, creed and ethnic discrimination,” the prime minister said during a meeting on minorities’ rights on Monday.

He noted that minorities in Pakistan enjoyed equal rights and the incumbent government is committed to further safeguarding all their rights.

Kakar urged the minorities to submit proposals of their issues and problems to the government so that their problems could be resolved.

He also called upon all the segments of the Pakistani society to play their positive role in the elimination of extremism and intolerance from the South Asian country for peaceful coexistence and harmony.
