New Delhi: Hours after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning on November 2 in connection with a case related to (now scrapped) Delhi excise policy, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi cabinet minister Atishi on Tuesday hit out at BJP-led Central government and alleged it wants to “finish off” AAP party.

At a press briefing held at AAP headquarters here, Atishi slammed BJP over ED summons to Kejriwal. “Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP are bent upon destroying AAP. Modi ji and his party are afraid of Kejriwal so they are preparing to arrest him,” she alleged.

Atishi further said, “Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) is such a weapon in the hands of ED that can put anyone in jail without any evidence.”

Expressing her concerns about misuse of probe agencies by the Central government, Atishi said, “Misuse of CBI-ED will not end only with Arvind Kejriwal, every leader of I.N.D.I.A alliance will come under its influence.”

Taking a dig at BJP, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said around 170 cases have been filed against different AAP leaders. “There are 70 cases against AAP leader Sanjay Singh, and dozens of cases against Kejriwal ji. By registering false cases, attempts have been made to destroy AAP but every time it emerges stronger,” claimed Bhardwaj.
