India logs 116 Covid-19 cases in 24 hrs, tally reaches 4170

New Delhi: India has recorded 116 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours as per health Ministry data on Tuesday.

With this, the total tally of active Covid-19 cases has reached 4170, which is 0.01 percent of the total active cases in the country.

Three deaths have been reported in the state of Karnataka in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 5,33337. The case fatality rate stands at 1.18 per cent.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 44472153, and the national recovery rate stands at 98.81 per cent, according to the health ministry.

Meanwhile, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said the national capital is seeing three to four Covid-19 cases on average every day and asserted that the city is well equipped to fight the virus resurgence.

As per officials, on Tuesday, the Delhi government reported that Covid-19 positive samples have been dispatched to laboratories for genome sequencing.
