Farmers’ protest: MHA asks Punjab Govt to maintain law and order

New Delhi: In the wake of farmers’ protest, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued advisory to the Punjab Government asking it to maintain law and order, sources said here on Wednesday.

According to sources, the Punjab government has been asked to take strict action against those involved in any disruptive activities under the guise of protest. The advisory was issued after, the farmers decided to move ahead to Delhi.

It may be mentioned that Sanyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), which is leading the farmers’ protest in North India had rejected the central government’s proposal for 5-year contracts on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for five food crops.
