Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrated across Bengal; governor, CM convey greetings

Kolkata: Eid-Ul-Fitr, one of the largest festivals of the Muslim community marking the end of month-long fasting (Ramzan), was celebrated across West Bengal on Thursday as hundreds and thousands of people wearing new clothes assembled at the mosques and offered prayer early in the morning.

Governor CV Ananda Bose, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and state Assembly’s opposition leader, Suvendu Adhikari, conveyed their wishes to the Muslim community, who were seen embracing each other and exchanging goodwill among them and the people of the other communities.

Bose conveyed his hearty greetings on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

” May this day be filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with family and friends,” Bose said, and he wished everyone happiness and blessings throughout the year ahead, “a Raj Bhawan communique said.

” Eid Mubarak! My heartiest greetings to all on this joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. May this Eid bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all, “the CM said.

“Greetings and best wishes to the Muslim community on the happy occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr,” BJP leader Adhikari said on his X handle.

At the main prayer of the day, thousands of Muslim brothers attended the mass-nawaz at the picturesque Red Road, where the TMC chairperson and Chief Minister also attended the prayer.
