New Delhi: Delhi Water Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi will begin an indefinite fast over the water crisis in the national capital at 12 noon on Friday.

Before initiating her fast, Atishi will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat at 11 a.m.

In a social media post on X, Atishi alleged that even today, 28 lakh Delhiites are not getting water. Despite every possible effort, the Haryana government is not providing full water to Delhi.

“Mahatma Gandhi has taught that if one has to fight against injustice, one must adopt the path of Satyagraha. I will start ‘Water Satyagraha’ today,” she said.

“I will go to Raj Ghat at 11 a.m. and pay tribute to Gandhiji. I will start an indefinite fast at Bhogal, Jangpura, at 12 o’clock,” the minister said.

“I will remain on hold until the people of Delhi get their rightful share of water from Haryana,” she added.
