Maha: Election Commission resolves 6,381 complaints of poll code violations; Rs 536 cash, goods seized

Mumbai: The Election Commission in Maharashtra has resolved 6,381 complaints of model code violations in the last one month and seized cash and goods worth over Rs 536 crore by its agencies as announced by the Office of the Chief Election Officer (CEO) said on Friday.

A total of 6,382 complaints were received on the C-Vigil application in Maharashtra between October 15 to November 14 for the Assembly General Election 2024.

Various enforcement agencies of the state and central governments have seized assets worth Rs 536.45 crore since October 15 in operations against illegal money, liquor, drugs, precious metals, etc, they further stated.

Citizens can file a complaint about Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations through the C-Vigil mobile application developed by the EC. This app can be downloaded from any app store. After the complaint is filed, appropriate action is taken after investigation by the concerned teams.

Effective implementation of the code of conduct is underway across the state.

Polling will be held on November 20, and results will be announced on November 23.
