Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati on Thursday accused Samajwadi Party (SP) of creating an “atmosphere of tension and violence” through controversial statements for “narrow” politics, urged Dalits and Muslims to avoid falling for its aggressive provocations.

Taking to X, Mayawati wrote, “It is known that, like other parties, the SP frequently pushes forward particularly Dalit individuals, creating an atmosphere of tension and violence through their highly controversial statements, allegations, counter-allegations and events, which seem to reflect their extremely narrow, self-serving politics.”

She said, “Because the SP can go to any extent here for the sake of selfishly securing the votes of Dalits. Therefore, along with Dalits, other backward communities and Muslim society, must also avoid falling for any of their aggressive provocations and should definitely protect themselves from becoming victims of this party’s political tactics.”

The BSP supremo said, “Also, instead of commenting on the history of others, it would be appropriate for opportunistic Dalits associated with such parties to talk about the virtues and struggles of their community’s saints, gurus and great personalities, because of whom they have become worthy of anything.”
