EAM Jaishankar calls on Singapore PM Lawrence Wong

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called on Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong today, and expressed confidence that his bilateral talks with PM Narendra Modi would chart a roadmap for the relationship.

In a post on X, the EAM wrote:
“Pleased to call on PM @LawrenceWongST of Singapore this morning in Delhi.
“Appreciate his constant encouragement for the strengthening of India-Singapore ties. Confident that his talks later today with PM @narendramodi will chart a roadmap for our contemporary ties.”

The Singapore PM in a post said that the two sides discussed regional and global developments besides the bilateral ties.

“With India External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar — we discussed regional & global developments, and the good progress in India-SG cooperation.”

In other posts, the Singapore PM, who is on a three-day official visit, gave a brief of the special Singapore at 60 reception held last evening.

He has earlier interacted with union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and union Health Minister and BJP chief JP Nadda.

“Had a productive start to my visit in New Delhi. Last evening, I joined overseas Singaporeans and friends of Singapore for a special SG60 reception. Many had travelled from different parts of India — Chennai, Mumbai, and beyond — to be part of this occasion.
“Several business leaders from our semiconductor industry also joined us, as they are in New Delhi for the SemiCon India event. It was truly heartening to hear their stories, and inspiring to see everyone flying our Singapore flag high in India.“
