Chinar Corps Commander reviews security in South Kashmir

Srinagar: The Army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps Commander, Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava, visited Rashtriya Rifles battalions deployed in the counter-terrorism grid in South Kashmir to take stock of the prevailing security situation.

The Army said the Corps Commander complimented the troops yesterday, for their perseverance, determination, skills, and hard work in the conduct and execution of kinetic operations, as well as in the assistance rendered during the recent deluge.

“He exhorted all ranks to continue with focus and dedication. Chinar Corps stands firm in its commitment to keep Kashmir terror-free,” the Army said in a post on X.

The visit comes in the backdrop of a recent gunfight in Kulgam district in which two soldiers were killed. The operation culminated with the neutralisation of two hardcore Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists identified as Rahman, a Pakistani national, and Amir Ahmed Dar of Daramdora, Shopian, along with the recovery of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment.
