For the first time in Ireland, a special cultural-tourism promotion event dedicated to Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Meghalaya, was hosted by the Indian Embassy in Dublin on December 19, 2025. The State Cultural Event Series, inspired by Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, aims to promote cultural and spiritual unity across India’s diverse regions. This initiative is part of the Indian Embassy’s efforts to showcase the country’s rich heritage.
So far, the Indian Embassy has organised State-focused events covering 22 States and 3 Union Territories.
The program comprised a multi-media presentation on the rich historical, cultural, culinary, craft, and tourist heritage of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Meghalaya, as well as traditional dance performances such as the Nyishi dance (Arunachal Pradesh), Contemporary Fusion Dance ‘Nungole Nungole’ (Manipur), Classical dance ‘Radha Abhisar’ (Manipur), and Khasi dance ‘Satlak Pyrthai’ (Meghalaya), and Manipuri poem recitation and display of traditional handicrafts and cultural artifacts of these States.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of India to Ireland, H.E. Akhilesh Mishra profusely thanked the small but strong diaspora in Dublin for enthusiastically supporting the Embassy in hosting the first-ever exclusive presentation on Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Meghalaya. He particularly appreciated the participation of some children from other parts of India who made a special effort to learn and perform dances of the North-Eastern States.
Ambassador Mishra highlighted the strong focus of the Government of India on the North-Eastern region and its socio-economic and infrastructural transformation. Now, there are significant opportunities for Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya to take advantage of, like the significantly improved air connectivity to attract high-end tourists and export their organic, herbal, medicinal and food products. Ambassador Mishra also handed over certificates of appreciation to all artists and performers.
