Actor-politician & DMDK Founder Vijayakanth condition unstable : hosp

Chennai: The health condition of actor-politician and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) founder Vijayakanth, who was admitted to a private hospital, was unstable and that he should be under treatment for at least next two weeks.

In a bullet in, MIOT Hospital, where he was admitted on November 18 following breathing problems and lung infection, said the actor-politician suffered a setback in his health condition during the last 24 hours.

The 71-year-old actor, who was affectionately called as “Captain”, has showed signs of recovery. But during the last 24 hours his condition has deteriorated and he needs to be in hospital for at least next 14 days, the bullet in issued on Wednesday evening said.

“Mr Vijayakanth was showing great improvement. However, over the last 24 hours he showed mild deterioration requiring a small amount of pulmonary support. We continue to be confident that he will show a full recovery,” the bulletin said.

Following the health update, political leaders and film personalities wished Vijayakanth a speedy recovery on social media.

Meanwhile, his wife and DMDK General Secretary Premalatha, in a video message said, said the Captain would soon recover and would meet all the party cadres
