Srinagar: Northern Army Commander Lt General Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday visited forward areas of Ladakh to review “operational preparedness” for winters and Border Defence Infrastructure development.

The Army is preparing for the fourth consecutive winter in the icy heights of Ladakh after a standoff with China in May 2020.

Northern Command said Lt General Dwivedi appreciated and felicitated the troops of Indian Army, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) of Border Roads Organisation (BRO), for their relentless efforts in maintaining highest standards of operational effectiveness under challenging conditions.

“#LtGenUpendraDwivedi, #ArmyCdrNC visited forward areas of #Ladakh to review #operational preparedness for winters and #Border Defence Infrastructure development. After the border standoff in eastern Ladakh in May 2020, the militaries of India and China have been holding talks, but there has been no substantive forward movement so far.
