Hamirpur/Una (HP): Former HP chief minister- cum- leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the State Working Committee Sunday said the margin of defeat of BJP was only 0.9 per cent. This is the first government in the history of Himachal Pradesh which has won with such a small margin and will not last long.

Thakur said the new Congress party government was issuing Tughlaki orders and the BJP would oppose them tooth and nail for the benefit and welfare of the people.

He said the central government has given big gifts to Himachal and the BJP government of Himachal has also done a lot of work for the progress of Himachal. Our government gave the presentation of Balak Truck Pharma Park 20 times in the centre and after that, the central government gave us the gift of Bulk Drug Park, Union Minister Anurag Thakur also stayed with us in the meeting, its total cost will be 1930 crores, the central government has given Himachal A big medical institute like AIIMS was also given to Himachal Pradesh, whose total cost will be 1470 crores and Medical Device Park was also given, many such things have been given by the Modi government to Himachal Pradesh.

Thakur said,” The BJP government constructed 5000 km of roads in Himachal Pradesh, it is a great achievement in itself, we did all this work when the whole of India and Himachal was battling with the Covid-19 pandemic”.

He said between 2007 and 2012 when Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal was the Chief Minister, the BJP government took a loan of 6700 crores and when the Congress government was in Himachal from 2012 to 2017, he took a loan of 13000 crores and that proved that loan taken by the Congress people was almost double than that of the BJP government.

The former Chief Minister said ever since this Congress government was formed in Himachal Pradesh, they took a loan of 1000 crores within 15 days and now once again that they took a loan of 1500 crores in the month of January and now this government was going to take a loan of 1500 crores in February also.

“The speed of loan taking by this government is very fast”, he said.

Jai Ram Thakur said since the formation of this Congress Government in Himachal Pradesh, a continuous process of closure of institutions is going on and now more than 620 offices have been closed in Himachal Pradesh. The BJP government had opened all the offices only after the cabinet and departmental approval and despite this, the Congress government has closed these offices, these offices were opened on public demand and now BJP is going to restore these offices with the help of the public. The BJP will oppose this Tughlaqi decree of the Congress through a signature campaign across the state.

He said the Congress government is also planning to discontinue the Him care scheme and efforts are being made to close the best schemes like Ayushman Bharat. This scheme has benefited lakhs of people of Himachal Pradesh and would not be allowed to be closed as it was a pro-people scheme.
