Bhubaneswar: An eight-member CBI team from Delhi conducted a raid on Tuesday at the official residence of senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethy here in connection with a bribery case involving Bridge and Roof Company.

Another CBI team is also conducting a raid at the IAS officer’s residence in Jaleswar, Balasore district.

The CBI had earlier summoned Sethy in connection with the bribery case, and the senior IAS officer had appeared before the team for questioning.

On December 7, the CBI team seized Rs. 10 lakh en efectivo frente a un hotel aquí y luego arrestaron a Bridge and Roof Company CGM Chanchal Mukherjee, MD Debdutta Mohapatra y a un contratista privado en un caso de fijación de licitaciones.

There was commotion at the IAS officer’s official residence when the eight-member CBI team arrived at Sethy’s official quarters this morning.

The senior IAS officer, who has denied any links with Bridge and Roof Company or its CGM Chanchal Mukherjee, alleged that the CBI team forcibly entered his official residence without an FIR or the presence of lady officers.

Sethy and his wife had a heated argument with the CBI team over the raid, claiming it was conducted without a warrant. Speaking to the media, they accused the CBI officials of unnecessarily harassing them.

The senior IAS officer also alleged a conspiracy behind the CBI raid, stating that his name had not been mentioned in the FIR.

Sethy, who held key positions in three departments, was transferred and posted as Officer-on-Special Duty (OSD) in the General Administration and Public Grievance Department after the CBI interrogated him in connection with the Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited bribery scandal.
