CPI(M) announces seat sharing with Congress & Motha in Tripura polls

Agartala: After two days of intensive discussion and several rounds of meetings with state-level leaders, CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Wednesday made it clear that left parties would go for seat adjustment with Congress and tribal-based TIPRA Motha and any other democratic parties in upcoming assembly elections to establish the rule of the constitution in Tripura.

Addressing the press Yechury said, “In pursuance to the decision of 23rd party congress, we shall adopt the suitable electoral tactics to defeat BJP and to maximize the vote against BJP in the assembly elections slated for next month. The state committee has been assigned to undertake the appropriate strategy to finalize the seat-sharing among the parties, but there will be no alliance.”
