Ex-ISI chief being investigated for corruption: Minister

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that former chief of the Inter Services Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen Faiz Hamid(Retd) is being investigated for alleged corruption.

Dawn quoted the interior minister saying at a press conference that a probe was underway against the former head of the ISI and his brother over alleged corruption and accumulation of assets beyond means.

In his defence, Gen Hamid has reportedly said that it is the Chief of Army Staff (Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa) that called all the shots.

Meanwhile Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz) leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called for the retired general’s court martial over his alleged role in removing from power her father’s government and implicating both her and Nawaz Sharif in National Accountability Beureu(NAB) cases.
