Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel has demanded that, expenses to Haji pilgrims of Marathwada and Vidharbha region should be accepted like Mumbai-Hyderabad.

In his letter penned to civil aviation minister Jyothiraditya Scindia on Monday Mr Jaleel stated that, Haj pilgrims will have to pay Rs 88,000 more for the direct flight service from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Jeddah. Due to this, there has been widespread resentment among the common citizens and confusion has arisen against the government.

On this, MP Jaleel raised several questions and wrote a letter to Mr Scindia, Union Minister for Minorities and CEO Haj Committee to approve the estimated cost of Chhatrapati Sambhaijnagar Embarkation Point similar to Mumbai-Hyderabad Embarkation Point.

Haj pilgrims will have to pay Rs 88,000 more for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Rs 1 lakh for Vidarbha compared to Mumbai and Hyderabad for direct flight to Jeddah.

Therefore injustice is being done to pilgrims going for Hajj from here .

He also mentioned in the letter that devotees will face a lot of financial and mental problems.

Specially, air service is available for travel from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Chikalthana) airport to Mumbai and Hyderabad for only Rs 5000 to 6000 .

A total cost difference of Rs 2000 to 3000 is expected for a direct flight to Jeddah from embarkation points at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

The first Haj House in Marathwada is starting this year at here .

As Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar airport has been officially approved by the Immigration and Customs Department, Mr Jaleel attended the Civil Aviation Committee meeting in Delhi on April 27, 2023 to start direct flight service to pilgrims from Marathwada, Vidarbha and North Maharashtra for Haj Umrah from here to Jeddah, he added.
