IS claims deadly attack on Kabul hotel

Kabul: The extremist militant group Islamic State (IS) has claimed a deadly attack on a hotel here.

The IS said in a statement that two of its militants attacked a hotel and detonated two explosive devices hidden inside two bags and sprayed bullets in the hotel.

The emergency hospital here receiving war injuries said on its Twitter account that it had received 18 injured and three dead after the attack.

Officials of the Afghan capital said that the attack took place at around 2:30 p.m. local time on Monday and left two foreigners injured who jumped from the roof of the hotel, adding that security forces killed three attackers during cleanup operations.
