Jammu SAI STC shuttlers qualify for Yonex Sunrise All india Sr N’tal ranking

Jammu: Two girl shuttlers of Jammu based Sports Training Centre, Sports Authority of India have qualified for Yonex Sunrise All india Senior National rankings held at Bahadurgarh, Haryana.

Nadeem Ahmad Dar, Deputy Director SAI while congratulating them on Saturday said Unnati Jaral and Krishika Mahajan, badminton trainees of SAI STC Jammu have qualified for Yonex Sunrise All india senior National rankings held at Bahadurgarh(Haryana) from from April 11 to 18.

He said that Unnati qualified for women singles event while as the duo of Unnati Jaral and Krishika Mahajan qualified for the women’s doubles events.

Both girls are first in the history of J&K badminton to qualify for senior National rankings after winning four rounds in qualification.

Although both girls are in Under-19 age group yet they have performed at senior level.

Notably, SAI STC Jammu shuttlers also excelled in recently concluded Inter SAI Badminton tournament held at STC Dhar(MP) wherein they secured a total tally of 10 medals comprising two Gold, four Silver and four Bronze medals.

Dar also appreciated the efforts of the coach Touseef Ahmad and congratulated him for this achievement. This is exemplary and encouraging for all aspiring shuttlers in J&K and achieved only due to hard work and dedication of athletes and coaches, he added.
