Srinagar: Security forces arrested two militant associates of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore sub district, police said on Friday.
Two grenades, eight pistol rounds, and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession, they said.
A statement said police, along with the Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles, intercepted two suspicious persons at a joint checkpoint established at Sher Colony Tarzoo Sopore.
When the joint party arrived, the suspects tried to flee, but officers apprehended them tactfully.
The two were identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat and Tanveer Ahmad Lone, both residents of Darnambal Tarzoo.
“The two were linked with the proscribed terror outfit LeT,” a police statement said.
