New Delhi: The BJP on Sunday launched a fresh attack at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accusing him of ‘glorifying’ corruption by encouraging his Ministers to go in jail.

Referring to Kejriwal’s statement after Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a case related to alleged money laundering that the latter should be given ‘Padma Vibhushan’, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “Kejriwal ji only makes tall claims, but the reality is different. He is glorifying corruption by encouraging his Ministers to go to jail.”

“We released two sting videos (on alleged liquor scam in Delhi). Why is Kejriwal mum over these videos?,” Patra said at a press conference at the party headquarters here, shortly after Kejriwal addressed the AAP’s maiden national convention.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) booked Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and several others last month over the alleged liquor scam.

“In the shortest period in history, the highest number of Ministers in any government had to resign due to corruption charges, then it is Kejriwal’s. AAP is the most dishonest and corrupt party,” the BJP spokesperson asserted.

On AAP’s fresh allegation on BJP trying to poach its MLAs in Punjab, Patra said, “Why does not he (Kejriwal) do recording and make it public? He is a sting master.”

In an apparent reference to AAP’s national convener campaign in poll-bound Gujarat where the party is eyeing to oust the ruling BJP government, the BJP spokesperson said, “Kejriwal starts ‘nautanki’ (drama) in the state wherever there is Assembly polls. He did such thing in Uttarakhand.”

“People of Gujarat will never repose their faith on AAP. They will support BJP’s development,” he claimed.

Assembly elections in Gujarat is slated to be held at the end of this year.
