KL Rahul confirms full fitness after injury scare

Perth: Indian cricketer KL Rahul assured fans of his fitness ahead of the series, despite a hard blow he took on the first day of simulation match at the iconic WACA.

Speaking to the media, Rahul said, “I took a hard hit on the first day of the simulation match,” but added that he felt better after medical assessment and treatment.

Team India’s physiotherapists, Kamlesh Jain and Yogesh Parmar, on Monday, provided further clarity on the matter.

Jain said, “The key for us is to ensure there’s no fracture or bony lesions,” explaining the initial concerns that arose after the impact.

Parmar, who handled Rahul’s treatment, mentioned, “I took him for an X-ray and after reviewing the results, I felt much more confident that he should be fine. It was mostly about managing the pain and boosting his confidence since the impact.”

Jain echoed this sentiment, stating, “He’s responded well to the treatments, and he should be ready to go.” From a medical standpoint, Parmar also assured, “He’s absolutely fine.”

Rahul, in his final comments, appeared upbeat, saying, “As for me, I’m feeling good. It’s been a bit tough today as I prepare for the first game. I’m glad I could come here early, giving me some time to adjust to the conditions. I’ve had plenty of time to prepare for the series, and I’m excited and looking forward to it.”

With confidence restored and medical clearance given, Rahul is expected to play a key role in the upcoming matches, as India looks to build momentum in the Test series.
