Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Maharashtra government has renamed Aurangabad district to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district and Osmanabad district to Darashiv district.
The state government published the gazette on Friday night and changed the names of both districts.
Henceforth, Osmanabad district will be named Dharashiv, and Aurangabad district will be named Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, stated the Gazette.
During the ongoing hearing in the Bombay High Court, it was said the objections raised by the state government have not been verified.
