Maharashtra: Dr Gupta set up SIT to probe recent clashes in city

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police commissioner Dr Nikhil Gupta has set up Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate in Whensday’s midnight clashes between two groups at Kiradpura area of city.

According to police ,The SIT team is going to conduct a thorough investigation of the tension which took place in Kiradpura area in which rioters set ablaze 16 vechiles and pelted stones on policemen.

CIDCO Police Station Inspector Sambhaji Pawar will be the head of the SIT team.

In this case, the police had also registered a case against more than 400 peoples also arrested seven to eight persons .

The SIT team formed by Dr Gupta included Sambhaji Pawar, Assistant Inspector Anil Magre of Jinssi police station , Cyber ​​Sub-Inspector Rahul Chavan, Kalyan Shelke of Crime Branch, Utreshwar Munde of Vedantanagar police station , Rohit Gangurde of City Chowk , Balasaheb Aher of Mukundwadi police station , Constable Arun Wagh, Sanjay Gawande, Sunil Jadhav are included in the special investigation team.

So far the police have registered riot cases against seven persons and produced them before the court .The court granted them PCR upto April 3.

Manhunt was already launched by the eight teams of police to nab the culprits ,they added.

Meanwhile on Friday in Ohar Village, which is close to the city, a group dispute was also seen. A stone pelting incident has taken place in this village morning after an argument that took place in the Thursday night. Six people have been injured and are undergoing treatment at the hospital. The police immediately rushed to the village and brought the situation under control and there is peace everywhere in the village. A large contingent of police has been deployed as a precaution.
