PIL filed in Delhi HC against deepfake videos

New Delhi: A PIL has been filed on Wednesday in the Delhi High Court against the circulation of deepfake videos trying to influence the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The plea was mentioned by Senior Advocate Jayant Mehta today before a Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora.

Mehta informed the court that the plea had been filed by a lawyers’ body and requested that the same be listed urgently. The court allowed urgent listing of the PIL for tomorrow, May 2.
