PM Modi slated to hold two BJP rallies in West Bengal’s northern districts

Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two election rallies for BJP at Balurghat and Raiganj in West Bengal’s northern district later on Tuesday, party sources said.

Modi is expected to hold his first rally at Balurghat around 2.30 PM in South Dinajpur where BJP’s West Bengal unit president Sukanta Majumdar is contesting for his second successive term in the Lok Sabha.

Thereafter, he will move to Raiganj in neighbouring North Dinajpur district to hold a BJP rally in favour of party candidate Kartik Pal.

The two Lok Sabha seats are going to the poll in the second phase on April 26.

In the first phase the northernmost districts of Cooch Behar , Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri will have voting on April 19.

Modi had already held two BJP rallies at Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri during his first campaign visit in Bengal after the ECI announced seven-phase polling in the state for all 42 seats.
