PM, Speaker wish Assam CM Sarma on his birthday

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday extended their warm wishes to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on his birthday, and prayed for his long and healthy life.

“Birthday greetings to the hardworking CM of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji. Praying for his long and healthy life”, the PM wrote in a tweet.

Modi also heaped praise on Sarma and said he is energetically transforming the state through numerous pro-people initiatives.

“Warm birthday greetings to Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji, Chief Minister of Assam. May the State and its people benefit from your able leadership and administration. Prayers for your long and healthy life,” the Speaker tweeted.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to the micro blogging site and wrote, “Birthday greetings to CM Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. May the almighty bless him with a long and healthy life.”

Shah said Sarma’s untiring efforts to carry the development agenda of PM Narendra Modi have successfully brought about peace and progress in Assam.
