Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today said relief and rescue operations are underway in the Dharali area of Uttarkashi district, which was hit by flash floods triggered by a cloudburst.
In a post on X, Chief Minister wrote, “The Prime Minister took information about the ongoing relief and rescue operations in Dharali over the phone this morning. He was informed about operations conducted throughout the night, people being rescued from the incident site, and the availability of essential services and resources.”
He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, saying he was in constant contact with the team engaged in the rescue operation. “I am also heading to Dharali to inspect the incident site,” said the CM.
At least four people have reportedly died in the devastating flash floods that hit the Dharali area of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand yesterday. Local authorities and state disaster relief sources confirmed that many villagers are still missing.
The cloudburst occurred in the catchment area of the Kheer Ganga river, sources added.
