Russia, US to hold talks on Ukraine in Riyadh – Reports

Moscow: Russia and the United States will hold talks on Ukraine in Riyadh on Tuesday, Russian newspaper Kommersant reported.

The US delegation on the talks is expected to include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, the publication said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and US leader Donald Trump had a phone conversation last Wednesday, which lasted almost an hour and a half, the leaders discussed issues related to the exchange of citizens of Russia and the United States, as well as the settlement of the situation in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Washington was Moscow’s main counterpart in matters of settling the situation in Ukraine. Trump later announced plans to hold a meeting with Putin in Saudi Arabia, and the teams of the presidents of the United States and Russia would soon prepare for this summit.
