Imphal: Security forces and Manipur Police arrested several active members of banned outfits in a series of operations across the state. Arms, ammunition, explosives, and contraband substances were recovered yesterday.
In Bishnupur district, an active member of a proscribed group was apprehended from his locality. Based on his disclosure, security forces recovered one .303 rifle with magazine, five magazines of various rifles, one No. 36 hand grenade, 501 live rounds of assorted calibre, two .303 ammunition chargers, a black gun case, and a mobile phone with SIM card.
In separate operations, members of different banned outfits were arrested from Imphal West, Imphal East, and Bishnupur districts. Items recovered included identification documents, including an Aadhaar card.
Meanwhile, police apprehended a juvenile in Kwakta Kutthabi area, Bishnupur district, and seized eight soap cases containing brown sugar weighing approximately 100 grams.
