Several explosions heard in Russia’s Belgorod

Belgorod: Several explosions were heard in Russia’s Belgorod on Monday when the missile alert was on, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

Plumes of smoke can be seen above the central part of the city, according to the correspondent.

Later in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defense shot down one Ukrainian fixed-wing drone over the Belgorod Region.

The missile alert was lifted in Belgorod and the Belgorod Region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said, adding that one person was killed and two others were injured in the attack.

The governor added that several air targets were destroyed on approach to Belgorod.
