Bengaluru: Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Thursday said a solution to Mhadei water distribution will come out soon.

“The successful Chief Minister of Goa Shri Pramod Sawant ji along with his delegation came for a meeting at Delhi residence today. There was an exchange of views regarding the water distribution of Mhadei river between us. Surely the solution to this issue will come out soon,” he tweeted.

Yesterday, the Goa delegation had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and appealed to him to withdraw approval given to Karnataka’s detailed project report (DPR) for the disputed Kalsa-Bandura project.

Sawant had also urged Amit Shah for immediate constitution of Mhadei Water Management Authority as provided in the award.

The Goa delegation met Amit Shah and Shekhawat after Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s announcement of clearing of Kalsa-Bandura project by the central government.
