Mogadishu: The Somali military eliminated dozens of members of the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS, banned in Russia) as a result of airstrikes on their positions in the east of the country, Somali media reported.

On Tuesday, airstrikes were carried out on ISIS hideouts in the Cal Miskaat mountains in Puntland, the Garowe news portal reported, citing the military.

The operation was reportedly carried out with the assistance of the American military.
