State cabinet meet to be held in Chhatrapati Sambhaijnagar

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Maharashtra state government will hold its special cabinet meeting on September 16 here on the eve of the closing ceremony of Amrit Mahotsav of Marathwada Liberation Day amid three-day festivities between September 15 and 17.

According to the sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be attending the main programme on Saturday evening.

The government has directed each district to host various cultural programmes, including morning processions by school students and a flag-hoisting ceremony on September 17.

During the afternoon, indoor cultural programmes will be organised.

Earlier in the morning, the state cabinet meeting will be held.

The state cabinet is expected to unveil a special package for the Marathwada region, which is currently facing a drought-like situation.

State Chief Minister Shinde will attend Bhoomipujans and the inauguration of various developmental works across the city.
