Damascus: Syria’s interim Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani announced on Friday the plan to visit Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Jordan in the coming week, in an effort to bolster stability, security, and economic recovery.

Al-Shaibani made the remarks in a post on X following his return from a two-day trip to Saudi Arabia, where he and other Syrian officials sought to strengthen ties and secure support for the country’s reconstruction.

“We hope these visits will contribute to supporting stability, security, economic revitalization, and the building of distinguished partnerships,” he added.

Syria’s new leadership, formed following the downfall of President Bashar al-Assad early December, has been working to establish diplomatic contacts with regional powers.

Al-Shaibani’s prior visit in Riyadh drew attention as the first high-level encounter between Saudi and Syrian officials since the power change.
