For the children and teenagers of Philadelphia in the USA, there is a curfew at place from the last 50 years, despite which, this is the second year in line when murders and violent crimes in the city have increased. A new order has also been issued in the city, prohibiting children from going out of their homes at night. Teenagers aged 16-17 years will not be allowed to go out at night after 10 PM. Earlier, they were allowed to go outside till midnight.

The police are turning stricter in order to get the rule followed. The parents of children and teenagers who are found to be outside their homes at night, are fined. In many cities of the USA, the local governments and police are putting in place, night curfews for teenagers, in order to curb violent crimes, as such crimes have increased in the country after 2020. On the other hand, research has proved that such curfews have not led to the deduction in such crimes. In September, in Prince George County, Maryland, outside Washington, a curfew from 10 PM onwards was imposed for people aged less than 17 years.

The county chief, Angela Alsobrooks has said that during these times, rather than hugging these children, it is crucial to hold them accountable. One Bryan Lamen from Philadelphia, who is 14 years old, has been caught 6 times for breaching the curfew.
